Functions of Relief Control Room

There is a control Room in this Ministry. It has been established in 1972.  It has some specific functions and Responsibilities. Which are given below:

a) To receive the information related to Flood, Cyclone, Earthquake, Draught, Fire and other natural calamities from District and Upazila administration over Fax. Wireless, Telephone and transmit the same to all concern persons.

b) To Prepare daily basis loss and damage statement of life & property during flood, cyclone, and other disasters and submit to higher Authorities.

c) To Collect weather forecast report and according to that report prepare statement and inform to higher Authority. Also to maintain close contact with Bangladesh meteorological Department (BMD) Bangladesh Betar & Television.

d) The Control room is entrusted with the responsibilities to send all sorts of G.Os of T.R, FFW and other Relief materials to all Districts Upazila and concerned agencies.

e) To maintain and repair of wireless sets installed at the District offices for ensuring smooth and un interrupt communication.

f) During the emergency period the Control room remain open round the clock, for collecting message from every nook and corner of the country and give the message to higher authority in time.

g) To dissemination the information related to the BMD's danger signals to District, Upazila and CPP Volunteers :and remind them to make necessary arrangement for evacuation and other safety measures.

h) To collect daily report of water levels of the rivers from Water  Development Board and District' Administrations and compile the information and prepare daily assessment report for higher Authority.

i) To maintain proper accounts and prepare report relating to relief materials.

j)  Any other responsibilities assigned by the higher Authority.
